We did our first camping trip using the bench seat. We didn’t have to worry about overnight rain and were able to sit very comfortably on the seat at dinner time - much better than a camping chair for dining. It’s super easy to set up and easy to store in our van under the fridge slide. We’re very happy with our purchase.

Barry is an excellent sturdy bench seat. The materials and finish are first-class (but some of the edges that are handled need filing). My uses for it around the campsite are mainly for putting stuff on to keep it at a reasonable height, but it will also get used for "bums on seat".
It would be great to have some little cups about 60mm in diameter (in the same material) to rest the legs in when on soft surfaces like sandy soil (150-170 kilos of two bums will make it sink in). It would be especially good if those cups had a slightly soft plastic insert that fitted the leg ends snugly so that the cups stayed in place when Barry gets picked up.
At the risk of getting fancy and adding production cost to Barry, those cups could then be stored onboard, on the underside of the seat, by having short replicas of the leg ends to push the cups onto, without protruding beyond the bottom rim of the seat. Alternatively, have some magnetic stainless steel in the base of the cup, and a magnetic strip on the underside of the seat.

How to care for
- Always ensure the legs are fully extended and you are on solid ground before use.
- We recommend you always use a chopping board and avoid cutting directly onto “Barry.” Although if you have to, he’s tough enough not to be bothered too much.
- Use a naturally derived cleaning product and soft cloth to wipe over. If you are particular (like us) wipe over with a dry tea towel for a spot free finish.
- Remove any campsite remnants before packing away (sand, dirt, last nights dinner etc)
- If you have been in salt air or water, give it a fresh water rinse as soon as you can.
- Always pack away clean and dry.
- When in use, do not exceed the maximum evenly distributed weight capacity of 200kg.
